ARTISANAL MINING 25'
Fujifilm XE-5 · 18-50mm · Digital · 6 frames
This series was created in Kadoma, a town renowned for its gold mining industry, where artisanal mining remains an important part of everyday life.
Through documentary-style photography, I followed the journey of gold from raw ore laden with impurities to the smelting process, and finally to weighing and pricing.
Rather than relying on extensive narration, the images are intended to tell the story themselves, offering a visual exploration of labour, value, and the transformation of a natural resource.
