I make quiet pictures, unhurried.

I’m Hillton — a photographer working on film and digital, mostly in the documentary register. I follow light rather than schedules, and I let a place set the pace.

My work sits low-contrast and a little muted: Fuji colour that leans soft, frames built around symmetry and stillness, the patience I borrowed from Japanese minimalism. I’m drawn to ordinary moments held a beat longer than usual — a market before light, a room going quiet, a field under snow.

I shoot stills on film and digital, and motion on Sony FX. The same eye runs through both: composed, calm, unforced. I’m based in Northampton, England, but most of the work happens elsewhere — wherever the activity, the people, or the weather asks me to be. Every frame on this site is available as a print.
